- Mispronounce words even after being corrected
- Add, omit or reverse sounds in words when reading or speaking
- Add, omit or reverse letters when spelling and writing
- Ask to take forms and applications home, rather than completing them on site
- Reluctant to read aloud
- Understand parts of conversations and have difficulty responding relevantly
- Ask for a name to be respelled repeatedly
- Difficulty recognizing a word spelled orally
